The Fourth of July 2026 is a big one. It’s America’s 250th birthday, and Frisco is going all out. Between the city’s annual Freedom Fest, a RoughRiders game with fireworks, and the World Cup fan festival running simultaneously at Simpson Plaza, this will be one of the biggest weekends in Frisco’s history.
Frisco Freedom Fest
Frisco Freedom Fest is the city’s official Fourth of July celebration. It’s free, open to the public, and draws one of the biggest crowds of the year. Expect live music, food vendors, family activities, and one of the largest fireworks shows in North Texas.
The event typically takes place at a central Frisco location (check the city’s website at friscotexas.gov for the 2026 venue and schedule as it gets closer). Arrive early to stake out a spot for the fireworks. Parking fills up fast and the surrounding streets get congested.
RoughRiders at Riders Field
The entire Fourth of July week features RoughRiders home games at Riders Field. Saturday, July 4th itself is a home game against the Midland RockHounds. The game will include fireworks and special festivities celebrating America’s 250th birthday.
This is one of the most popular games of the year. Buy tickets early. Gates open 90 minutes before first pitch. Combine the game with a visit to the Lazy River if you can get a reservation.
World Cup Fan Festival
The FIFA World Cup 2026 runs June 11 through July 19, which means the FC Dallas Soccer Celebration at Simpson Plaza will be in full swing over the Fourth of July weekend. Watch World Cup matches on big screens, enjoy international food vendors, live music, and interactive events. It’s free and open to the public.
You could watch a morning World Cup match at Simpson Plaza, head to Riders Field for an afternoon baseball game, and catch fireworks in the evening. That’s a pretty complete Fourth of July.
Where to Watch Fireworks
The best fireworks viewing spots in Frisco:
Frisco Freedom Fest has the biggest show. Get there early for the best vantage point.
Riders Field does post-game fireworks on July 4th. Watching from inside the ballpark is one of the best fireworks experiences in the city.
The Star campus and open areas around Toyota Stadium can sometimes offer distant views of multiple fireworks shows across the area.
Tips From a Local
It’s going to be hot. July 4th in North Texas regularly hits 100°F or higher. Bring water, wear a hat, and plan for shade. Hydrate before you go, not just while you’re there.
Traffic will be brutal. With Freedom Fest, the RoughRiders game, and the World Cup festival all happening simultaneously, every major road in Frisco will be congested. Leave early, be patient, or consider rideshare.
If you have kids, the RoughRiders game is the best option. The Kids’ Power Zone, the ballpark atmosphere, and the post-game fireworks make it a complete family experience.
Stock up on groceries and supplies before July 4th weekend. Stores get picked clean of charcoal, ice, and cold drinks by Thursday evening.
