Frisco is getting its own TV show. Frisco King is an upcoming Paramount+ drama from Taylor Sheridan (Yellowstone, 1883, Landman) starring Samuel L. Jackson. The show is set primarily in Frisco, Texas, and production started filming in Fort Worth on March 20, 2026.

What’s It About?

Frisco King follows Russell Lee Washington Jr. (Jackson), a hitman for New York mobsters who befriended Sylvester Stallone’s character Dwight Manfredi during a stint in federal prison. After declining an assignment to kill Manfredi, Washington decides to start a new life and a new enterprise in Frisco, Texas.

The show is a spinoff of Tulsa King, where Jackson’s character was introduced in Season 3. The series was originally titled NOLA King and set in New Orleans, but Sheridan relocated it to Frisco during a creative overhaul.

Cast and Crew

Samuel L. Jackson leads the cast and serves as executive producer. Taylor Sheridan is writing all eight episodes of the first season. Sylvester Stallone is also an executive producer.

The supporting cast includes Asa Germann (Gen V) as Teddy, a sharp college dropout who catches Lee’s attention. Kai Caster (Yellowstone) plays Keith, a hotel valet. Lilah Pate (Outer Banks) plays London, a local cheerleader recruited by Lee. Savanna Gann (English Teacher) plays Avery, London’s friend who also joins Lee’s crew.

Christina Alexandra Voros directs the pilot. She and Michael Friedman will direct multiple episodes throughout the season. Both are longtime Sheridan collaborators.

Filming and Release

Production started on March 20, 2026, in Fort Worth. Street-use permits for the Tarrant County Courthouse area confirm active filming. While the show is set in Frisco, principal production is based at the production campus Sheridan and David C. Glasser opened in Fort Worth with Paramount backing.

Expect to see recognizable North Texas locations throughout the series. No premiere date has been announced, but late 2026 or early 2027 is likely based on typical Sheridan production timelines.

Frisco King will stream exclusively on Paramount+.

What This Means for Frisco

A Taylor Sheridan show set in your city is a big deal. Sheridan’s track record (Yellowstone made Montana tourism spike, Landman boosted interest in West Texas) suggests Frisco King could bring real attention to the area.

The irony isn’t lost on anyone: Frisco is one of the safest suburbs in America, and it’s getting a crime drama. But Sheridan’s shows always use real places as characters. Frisco’s rapid growth, wealth, sports culture, and Texas identity make it a natural setting for the kind of story he tells.

For locals, the show means Frisco’s name will be in front of millions of Paramount+ viewers. That’s the kind of exposure a city can’t buy.
