The Dallas Stars connection
The Stars run their front office and daily operations out of Comerica Center, and the team practices on its ice. During the season, many practices open to the public free of charge, which makes this one of the few places in DFW to watch NHL players work from a few rows away without buying a ticket. Schedules follow the team's travel, so confirm the calendar before making the trip.
Texas Legends basketball
The Legends, the Mavericks' G League affiliate, play their home slate here from November into the spring. The product is real: NBA prospects, two-way players, and veterans fighting back to the league, all in an intimate arena where kids can actually see the game. Tickets cost a fraction of an American Airlines Center night.
Public ice and youth hockey
Between the pro tenants, the ice belongs to the city: public skating sessions, learn-to-skate programs, and one of the busiest youth hockey operations in Texas. If your kid wants to try hockey in DFW, this building is where that usually starts.
Events, parking, and the neighborhood
Concerts, graduations, cheer competitions, and expos fill the rest of the calendar. The arena sits beside The Star, so parking spreads across the shared campus lots and garages, and the restaurant row around the Cowboys plaza handles dinner before any event. Pair it with our things to do guide to round out the day, or check Riders Field across the Tollway when the calendar turns to summer.
